Review: King’s Fish House (Mission Valley)

K9 Foodie here back with another review! This week we’re talkin’ about the delicious seafood at King’s Fish House and their dog friendly patio. Mama and Poppy have been going here for years, they love to take grandpa here and treat him to the biggest lobster in the tank!

Location: Located on Camino De La Reina in the heart of Mission Valley.  So if you’re headed to Lazy Dog with your pooch and the patio is packed, you can head over to King’s instead.  The Habit Burger and Fuddrucker’s are also dog friendly and located right next to King’s.

Atmosphere: This is a fun place for large groups and birthday’s.  It’s casual, has a large covered outside patio for people and then a smaller dog friendly patio in front of the bar on the left side of the entrance. The tables are nicely spaced out so there’s plenty of room and provides a nice shady, peaceful setting.

Food: Where do I start? Their food is great! They have some of the best sourdough in town and a great selection of oysters.  The folks like; the terrific side dish options (you pick two with your entere –you gotta try the mac n cheese), fresh sushi, killer scallops, the sanddabs are one of mom’s fav’s, dad usually digs the steak and lobster.  Grandpa always starts with oysters and demolishes a 3-4 pound lobster if they have one, he also likes the Clam Bake. They have excellent cocktails as well.

Service: Service inside is good, they are a little slower on the patio. Staff is friendly and professional.

In summary, King’s is a staple in our restaurant rotation. It’s in a great location and the food is consistently good. The patio is spacious and the ground is cool, so I can stretch out and lay down and relax while my folks eat surrounded by pretty plants and a nice breeze (most days). Oh and mom says she likes their napkins with silly jokes on them.
